How might we design a seating system that is modular, easy to use, and allows a better seating posture for staircases and other uneven surfaces?

The size, thickness and mechanism allow a lot of possibilities to imagine ways of interaction with furniture in our space. 'stare-h' is a modular seating system which allows a user to sit/ recline on uneven surfaces such as staircases and improve interaction among people or any other activity carried out by the user. It is made up of two primary components i.e. a wooden piece which consists of three cavities angled at 180, 115 & 90 degrees respectively and a metal piece that allows the sliding mechanism. A single module weighs 1.2kg and has a dimension of 406.4mm x 279.4mm x 33.02mm. The entire wooden piece was made in three parts and clamped together to form a single unit. The metal piece has two parts i.e. a metal strip and a cylindrical rod which are welded and screwed to the wooden piece.

Strare-h is easy to carry and use, modular, lightweight and occupies less space such that it could be transported in your backpack! The design uses simple materials, joinery and a fabricated sliding mechanism such that a user can install their seat in multiple ways to sit comfortably/ recline/ work while sitting on a staircase or an uneven surface. The entire interaction focuses on the function or the act of sitting on uncomfortable surfaces such that it is an optimum blend of utility and an accessory when not in use.
Stare-h helps the community grow by improving and prolonging the interaction among people, designing for an unseen problem and eventually enhancing the user experience.
